What is HID?
HID (High Intensity Discharge) Light is a point light source emitting from a tiny quartz arc tube filled with Xenon gas and a small quantity of metal halide compounds. The light is generated from an electrical discharge between the two electrodes upon ignition by an initial hi - voltage of 23KV. After stabilization, the light is similar to that of daylight under a constant applied voltage.

Water resistant AMP connectors, on both sides of the bulb, are known as the best connectors in the market, and are often used by top automobile manufacturers like BMW and Mercedes. To insure this HELIOS Discharge Bulb are "TUV", "UL", "CE" and "SAE" Approved. In essence, We DO NOT use those neither rebased/modified Generic bulbs nor machined fittings with an adapter ring glued on OE D2 bulbs. These HELIOS HID conversion kit will come included with two heavy duty wiring harness that will plug directly into Discharge Bulbs and your OEM wiring harness with proper mating connectors so that you will not be required to cut or splice any wires. This harness is protected with 105°C insulation and will come included with zip tie and Velcro tape for easy installation.

HELIOS ballast has been designed by German Lighting Technology specifically for aftermarket retrofit systems. Unlike others currently available on the market, as they are using OEM Philips LVQ 212 ballast modify to fit retrofit. The characteristics of retrofit are different than an OEM specs' ballast, and HELIOS conversion kits are specifically made for the aftermarket consumer and people who want to install HID in non-Xenon equipped vehicles.

Ballast comes equipped with very long 24" power cord and bulb cord. In comparison, Philips LVQ ballast's length is slightly longer than a foot, which can make installation very difficult. The ballast comes with an external starter, which allows the ballast to be compact - in other words, "easy mounting." Gen IV.
