AEM intakes are designed for popular trucks, SUVs and musclecars, and are dyno-tested to create more torque and horsepower than any other intake for large displacement engines. The mechanical engineers emphasize tuning the resonance properties of the inlet pipe to help carry more air to the intake valves. We use aluminum piping for this, because plastic absorbs some of the sound energy we manipulate to create power, and mild steel is heavy and can rust. We route our plumbing so that the filter draws air from the safest and coolest location, and provide a carbon-black powdercoated steel heat shield to shroud the filter from engine heat and road dirt. We emphasize maximum flow without sacrificing low-end torque, and offer the best performance air filter available in the DRYFLOW Synthetic filter. AEM Power Spacers feature a straight-shot design that creates more power than spacers with screw-type inlets. The Power Spacer is included ONLY in Brute Force systems when increasing plenum volume increases performance. If your kit does not have one, you don't need it. Because we include them in the kits where they make power, they are not sold separately.
